Face it, guys, we're all older with far more responsibilies now than we ever had before. Its MORE than likely that some of us, if not all of us, won't have a lot of time for something like this game. So I figured I'd put down my expectations of players here to help everyone make an educated decision as to whether or not they can make a run at this.
1. Make a character. Give them some personality, and document what that personality is on their CS.
2. Post something in character at least once a week. Doesn't have to be long or descriptive. Just letting us know what you'd like your character to do.
3. Barring that, if you have RL (real life) issues come up (and we all will), let us know and post at least once a MONTH. We can NPC any character beyond that.
4. Have fun here. Post here OOC once in awhile to help build the community feel.
Obviously, if you can participate more than that, well, that's awesome. However, one of the reasons I had no issue with having so many characters joining for one group at the start was it would allow the most leeway to anyone with a minimum of time to play this way.
So...whattaya think? Doable?

Totally. Look at all the fantasy novels about big groups. Rarely do they all meet up for anything short of an epic confrontation with a Bad Guy.

Exactly.
Once you guys get going, breaking off into smaller groups for specific things would only make sense, anyway. (Thus allowing other folks to take a shot at DMing here too, if they want.)
Any characters NOT directly in play can be NPC'd in games, or even placed in NPC roles in whatever area you guys "settle" down. (ie. A Priest could start building a chapel, a Fighter could be training peasants to be guardsmen, a Ranger could be training...well, Rangers, and a Wizard could be taking on an apprentice, etc.)
