Rock looks at Klangwhyrr with his mouth open and a blank stare. After an unusually long pause he says, "...what?"
He turns to Mavelle with puzzled look and responds, "Um....uh...no?"

"Well this crew it getting more interesting by the moment.......a woodsy mess of a girl.....hummmm cant wait to see who comes out next"..........but back to the task at hand ...Baham waits to till they reach about the half way point just in case this goes south....(lol).....taking a deep breath and a waiting for a nice gust of wind for max lift ....he jumps into a lofty dive towards the other ship (+10 to all jump checks)..........aiming for the center deck of the damaged ship.....hand and foot claws at the ready to stop his momentum.......

after rock talks, mavelle claps her tiny hands in delight | mavelle laughs – sounds like silvery bell
“tee hee! i’m so glad you’re here! everything you say is so delightful! i can’t wait to hear the next thing that comes out of your mouth!”

after banwyck talks, mavelle giggles. “i like your spirit. i think we’ll be great friends.”
mavelle touches a finger to her dirt-smudged chin. “what are you looking to find in the old world?”

mavelle looks at the others | her eyes are green and glassy | she looks a little angry | she stamps her foot | her hands curl into little fists and she puts them on her hips |
“and what about the rest of you? nothing to say? how rude! i asked you such nice, little questions. you’re awake, aren’t you? not all of you can be the strong and silent type.”

Klangwhyrr rowed without complaint. Each mighty pull of his oars drew the crowded longboat closer to the two mysterious and, seemingly, abandoned vessels.
The appearance of Mavelle created a conundrum for the ever-watchful, ever-vigilant automaton. As he rowed, he watched the woman, carefully. She posed a puzzle that needed to solved - there was no record of Mavelle on the ship's manifest as either crew or passenger. Moreover, her presence had eluded him for the many weeks the Impolite Fortune had been at sea.
When Rock spoke, there was a momentary wavering of Klangwhyrr's glowing, spectral eyes - which was less a sign of irritation and more an indicator that he had been distracted from the focus of his interest, like a flame disturbed by an errant breeze. "The analysis is complete," the automaton told Rock. "Additional data is not required."
Klangwhyrr waited for Banwyck to conclude his dialogue with Mavelle, before speaking. "I am Klanwhyrr," he said, in response to her questions. "I am the guardian of the Havenstaal governor, Jon Reece and his son, Kale. Previously, I was the guardian of the late, Grymport governor, Caran Saal."
"The more important questions are: who are you? How is it your presence has eluded observation these many weeks at sea - and in such cramped quarters? What is your role on this voyage?"
"I am part machine. I also believe an elemental, or an amalgamation of elementals, powers this form. In any case, your dislike of machines is irrelevant. If we are to uncover the mysteries of the old world, together, you will need to adapt."

mavelle sniffs and looks away from klangwhyrr | petulant tone | "guardian of the late governor? oops. does jon reece know that? an important fact, i think."
she considers what the warforged says | after a moment, she shrugs | "sorry. still don't like you. nothing you say is going to change my mind."

mavelle squirms with girlish delight. "such eloquence. it's priceless! every word, priceless. i can hardly imagine what wonderful things the bards will write of you, one day."
mavelle looks to malvo and the elan "hello?"
mavelle looks to banwyck and klangwhyrr. "as far as conversation goes, it's just us, isn't it?"

"Adventure and pies, m'lady!" Ban says conversationally. Leaning in a bit closer and dropping his voice to a nearly conspiratorial level he adds, "Old world... new recipes!"
Straightening back up and voice returning to a normal level, "As for the others, well... this little boat moves quite a bit more than The Impolite Fortune! You and I don't seem to mind and I doubt it even has a chance to bother Klangwhyrr . And it's my experience that many have their own way of preparing for the unknown. Please, do not judge them harshly. They will have our backs when it comes to it, I'm sure!"

mavelle smiles at banwyck | sneaky twinkle in her green, glassy eyes. "i like adventures, but i think I like pies, better. usually, they're less dangerous - depends on who you steal them from..."
mavelle elbows klangwhyrr | hits hard rock on his side. "think the machine has any recipes in there, banwyck? he's from the old world."
mavelle's full, pink lips turn pouty "the boat rocks a little bit. we've seen worse on the impolite fortune."
mavelle looks at malvo and moridan. "with such an interesting group assembled, I thought we might have more interesting conversations. it was very boring being locked up in my quarters for all those weeks. i don't like being bored. "
mavelle wilts | elbows on knees | head rests on knuckles | dejected sigh | to klangwhyrr she says: "i still don't like you, but i'm bored. are we there , yet?"

“We are very close,” Klangwhyrr told Mavelle, as the longboat slipped into the shadows cast by the pair of mysterious and, seemingly, abandoned vessels. Out of the light of the sun, the enchanted rocks incorporated into the automaton’s form came to resemble the grey and weathered stone used in ancient tombs and mausoleums.
“We are close,” the automaton intoned, setting his oars aside. “We should devise a plan to board and explore the vessels.”

As the longboat makes slow progress, its small crew focus their attentions on the two ships looming ahead. The first and closest is similar in shape and form to their own, a Brigantine vessel that appears, outwardly, to be much newer and perhaps even in better shape than the Impolite Fortune. This ship mostly blocks the view of the second, a sloop or possibly a schooner...its unclear, due mostly to the fact that more than 1/3 of the vessel is submerged. It is, however, tenatively lashed to the Brigantine with lines and a rickety wooden boarding plank. Still, like before, no figures can be seen moving about on either deck. The only movement seems to be from the sails of the Brigantine, which are currently drawn in.
The closest of the two still lies about 20 yrs off when the attentions of the longboat are caught up with the sight of the Dragon-kin sailor from the crow's nest soaring by overhead, gliding awkwardly, but steadily towards the closest vessel.
(Roll: 9, +8 [Flight Skill] = 17) Baham makes it all the way to the hull of the Brigantine ship, but does not quite make the deck. He does, however, reach out and grab hold of the rail and ends up hanging over the side of the ship, his feet braced against the hull. He half-turns and gives the party a grin and a nod.
....Next?

Klangwhyrr’s helmeted head turned with the soft hum of metal mechanisms and the creak of ancient wood. His glowing, spectral eyes followed Baham, as the dragon man glided through the air. “Limited capacity for flight,” the automaton observed. "Jumping from the mast of a ship: Evidence of impulsive - possibly self-destructive - behavior.”
As Baham crashed into the side of the Brigantine ship, Klangwhyrr noted: “Insufficient mathematical skills for accurately calculating distance and angles, while compensating for external forces." The automaton did not speak for a moment as he processed the information. “Conclusion: Baham is a risk to the safety and success of the expedition.”
“Rock, Banwyck, Moridan, Professor – we must increase our speed.” Klangwhyrr 's strange, hollow voice conveyed no emotion; no urgency – and yet the speed and force with which he rowed intensified, dramatically. With the increased effort came the grating sound of stone on metal, as the chiseled stone plates of his triceps dragged across the rows of metallic plates that circled his abdomen.
Klangwhyrr noted that his sudden burst of speed drew surprised looks from his companions. “If hostile forces are aboard either vessel," the automaton explained, "Baham’s arrival would certainly have attracted their attention."
"If so, there are two consequences," the automaton continued. "The first: Baham is alone and in danger - and will require our immediate support. The second: Notice of our impending arrival will provide any hostile forces with significant tactical advantages - which will make our attempt to board far more dangerous.”
