To create your character, follow the rules outlined in the Player's Handbook. Use the character sheet template as the format for your character sheet.

In determining your starting attributes, know that we use a straight 80-point buy system. Only racial modifiers (or DM permission) can raise an attribute above 18 or bring one down below 8. Following is an example of how this works:
Player Character Example with the 80-point buy
STR 15 (15 points used) [Total pts Used: 15]
DEX 12 (12 points used) [Total pts Used: 27]
CON 15 (15 points used) [Total pts Used: 42]
INT 10 (10 points used) [Total pts Used: 52]
WIS 18 (18 points used) [Total pts Used: 70 ]
CHA 10 (10 points used) [Total pts Used: 80]
Racial modifiers, as described in the Player's Handbook, may raise an attribute as high as 20 (for example, and Elfs Dexterity Score) or as low as 6 (a Dwarfs CHA score). Players who have strong feelings about bringing an attribute to a score of less than 8 must get permission from their moderating DM to do so.
Pretty easy and straightforward, right?
When determining your characters starting gold, (At 3rd Level), please using the following table:
Barbarian 160 gp
Bard 160 gp
Cleric 200 gp
Druid 80 gp
Fighter 240 gp
Monk 20 gp
Paladin 240 gp
Ranger 240 gp
Rogue 200 gp
Sorcerer 120 gp
Wizard 120 gp
...and then add 1000gp
Please note that these amounts are the maximum starting funds allowed by the PHB for each class at first level, and should be sufficient to start any adventurers career. You must use the starting funds for your character class during creation. Sorcerers and wizards should also note that a familiar costs 100gp in materials, so starting the game at first level with such a companion will deplete nearly all of your funds, though it is certainly possible to do so.
Weapon, Armor, and Equipment costs can be found here:
www.d20srd.org/indexes/equipment.htm
Note: Other than Potions (which must be approved by the DM) NO magic items may be purchased at character creation. MW weapons and equipment are allowed.
In order to create your character using the character sheet template, you may simply highlight the information in the template and then cut (Ctrl-C) and paste (Ctrl-V) it to a Word document or another word processor program. Fill out the blanks by entering your characters vital statistics and then post it back in the New Character Sheet forum. Make sure you have the circle next the EzCodes in the formatting field marked with the affirmative dot. The GM moderating your adventure or city experience will then check it for errors and then repost it under his or her own login in the Approved Character Sheet forum, after which the Official Character Sheet can be modified only by the moderator.
Any requested changes to your character sheet thereafter must be made as a reply to your character sheet post, which will then be incorporated into your Approved Character Sheet by the DM. Such new information includes leveling up your character, where the player shall request what class he or she wants to take with the new level, new feats (if any) and new skill ranks. Automatic changes such as increased BAB, base saves, new class abilities, hit points, etc. shall be determined by the moderating DM and automatically incorporated into the Approved Character Sheet. Once these changes have been made, the player should double-check his or her character sheet to be sure that there are no discrepancies. After all, sometimes DMs make mistakes too!
As a helpful alternative to creating your character from scratch (primarily for those that are totally unfamiliar with the D&D rules), we offer some pre-generated characters set at 1st level, to steal a term from computer role-playing games. These 10 characters represent the base classes in the Player's Handbook and are fully equipped with equipment, left-over funds, spells, skills, feats, attributes, and quite nearly everything else you need to start playing the game. All you need to do is fill in a couple blanks, like the character name and the gender. Simply cut and paste the pre-generated character sheet into your own post, fill in those couple of blanks, and post it in the New Character Sheet forum as previously described. Then, we'll work on adding the 2nd and 3rd levels together.
OK, so now you're ready for adventure, right?
